Vinyl records, first made towards the end of the nineteenth century, held an impressive and predominant status for just about a century.

Learn how to preserve your Vinyl disc records.  Preservation is the term used for preventative measures that is taken to defend vinyl records against damage, help maintain fidelity, and prevent slow degradation.

Vinyl is virtually unbreakable and made out of plastic containing PVC (Polyvinyl chloride acetate copolymer).  Because of the PVC base records is considered as the most stable analog recording media available today.  It does not deteriorate as easily as records that were made on fragile materials such as vulcanite, acetate or shellac.

Read on to find out more on Scratching, also called “skratching”. Itis a turntablist or disc jockey (DJ) technique that is used to create specific sounds.  The sounds are made when the DJ moves a vinyl LP backwards and forwards on a turntable whilst also manipulating the DJ mixer crossfader.
